From Monday 27 October 2025, all GP-referred X-ray services at Bedford Hospital (at the Community Diagnostics Centre and the acute hospital site) will require patients to have a pre-booked appointment.
Appointment letters will be sent to patients by post, with walk-in access gradually being phased out to ensure a smooth transition.
This changes aims to improve patient experience and reduce waiting times, as well as enhance service efficiency and resource planning.
Patients will be contacted with an appointment date and should not attend without confirmation.
