Derbyshire Cancer Buddies is a not-for-profit community-based group comprising a team of compassionate comprehensively trained volunteers who have lived and experienced cancer and now provide emotional support to Derbyshire cancer patients, survivors and carers through their cancer journeys.

We support people via our Facebook page and our trained Buddies also offer quality assured 1-1 telephone Buddy support via a self referral system. So far we have received 100% positive feedback from service receivers – some have described Buddy support as a ‘lifeline’ and all really appreciate the opportunity to socially interact with others who are able to share experiences and aspects of their everyday lives.
